In the recent workshop held in Ukraine to try to find solutions to the country’s constitutional challenges as well as its semi-presidential program. Sujit Choudhry, the current director of the Center for Constitutional Transitions, was among a team of constitutional experts who attended the event, held in Kiev.
Besides the international team of visitors, Ukraine was also well represented by major players in constitutional affairs of the country which included different intergovernmental organizations advocating for incorporation of democracy by world’s nations.
Sujit Choudhry appreciated the attendance of the event, citing how critical it is to discuss matters that primarily require specialized skills such as that of experts.
Sujit Choudhry, he added that many factors has contributed to Ukraine’s government instability. These factors include underpowered political parties with no voice, office of the president usurping tremendous power and problems with the electoral laws among other issues.
At the event, Sujit Choudhry had a privilege to sit with world’s prominent leaders such as Vladimir Vasilenko who represents Ukraine on Human Rights, Viktor Musiaka currently serving as the chairman of the Supreme Court among other attendants who impacted positively on the matter at hand.
Sujit Choudhry has been an instrumental figure in drafting and implementing constitutions in many countries. He helps them gain necessary education to enable them to gain more from their rules and regulations. Read more of his point of views here.

Mr. Choudhry is an international icon in matters of politics and constitutional law. He is the I. Michael Heyman Professor of Law at the University of California, Berkeley School of law.
