When a person sees a homeless animal on the streets of New York City, they usually feel bad and wonder what they can do about the problem. One of the best things that the person can do is get the animal off the street by either taking it home with them, finding a new home for it, or taking it to an animal shelter in New York City. At times, when a person takes a homeless animal to a shelter in New York City, the animal shelter may not be able to keep the animal. Even though they have great intentions and work really hard to take care of homeless animals, they do not always have the space or the funding that is needed to take care of them. The situation becomes even worse during the cold winter months. Sadly, many animals die when the temperatures in New York drop below freezing.

Ross Abelow is trying to do something about this problem. He has set up a winter fundraiser in order to raise money that can be used by animal shelters in New York City. Individuals from around the world can donate money to this cause using the Go Fund Me account that was set up under his name. The more people who are able to donate toward this great cause, the quicker the problem will be taken care of. Besides enabling animal shelters in New York to purchase food, medicine and blankets, the money will also be used to expand the amount of space that is available for homeless animals. When an animal is placed in a shelter, they are in the best position possible to be taken care of for the rest of their lives.
